Author's Spotlight: Carly Cassano



Carly Cassano

Carly Cassano is a sales associate at the Global Exchange Store in San Francisco and Berkeley. She strongly supports fair trade, and loves engaging with conscious shoppers. Prior to her position with Global Exchange, she was the editorial director of Literary Traveler, an internationally acclaimed online magazine based in Boston, MA. During this time, she was also an independent web marketing consultant and events planner for small businesses and artists. Before that, she was a news content editor at Dow Jones & Co., and before that, a database analyst at a technology start-up which was acquired by Dow Jones. Carly moved to the Bay Area from Boston, with stints in Madison, WI, and Buffalo, NY, her hometown. She completed a publishing internship at Prometheus Books in Buffalo immediately following her graduation from William Smith College in 2006. She received a degree in English, and was given the “most innovative writer” award by the English department that year. In her free time, Carly plays the bassoon in the Oakland Civic Orchestra and chamber groups, enjoys live music, hiking, bike riding, reading, writing, and talking.
