Ruth, thanks for your suggestion, much appreciated! You might consider connecting with our Reality Tours program folks about this. Japan is not an area we do work travel to right now, but Reality Tours does have a customized program for folks who have a specific interest in certain geographical destinations and/or issues. Thought this might interest you. If so, here's a link to more info: http://www.globalexchange.org/tours/customized.

Thanks again! Tex

It's time--in fact, it's overdue, for you to start focusing on Japan and the far East--with trips, articles, etc. For example, take a look at Okinawa, occupied by Japan more than 200 years ago, and today a captive of the U.S. military in the form of Marine Corps. camp Futenma, and the painful sight of the Okinawans struggle for independence from the U.S. and Japan. And look at Japan itself, as it attempts to deal with the far from unfinished business of Fukushima. I can send you an excellent article on how the women of Fukushima are organized to obtain justice. And all this is just the beginning. Furthermore, real change and potential stress is occurring in the Far East. Lead some groups there. I can help you if you want, with more connections and information.
