Happy New Year!
What’s your New Year’s resolution?
I will not procrastinate.
I will work for peace and justice.
I will make time for my creativity to bloom.
It is 2014 and the deadline for the What about Peace? youth art contest is fast approaching. It’s the time of year when I always get nervous – will anyone actually submit a painting, graphic or photograph – are there still poets and writers willing to share their ideas about peace?
Fortunately the first entries have started rolling in. A shout-out to Lane Erickson of Torrance California who sent in this year’s first entry – a poem called simply “Peace”.
Are you finishing up your painting, choosing between photographs or assembling a collage? Does your poem, short story or essay say everything you want it to convey about peace?
On February 17th we hope that your ideas for peace will be in our office and ready for the jurying process.
If you are between 14 and 20 years old we want to hear from you.
- Visit www.whataboutpeace.org for all the entry details.
- Send your entry and the form to What About Peace? at 2017 Mission Street, 2nd floor, San Francisco, CA 94110.
- All entries must be received in our office on or before February 17th.
- Spread the word…Please help spread the message of peace on Facebook and Twitter, thanks!
