Dear Deborah:

I finally finished reading your beautifully written, meticulously detailed description of our visit to Iran. For me it was like experiencing the trip a second time, reliving the intensity of the country, its people and culture. Your ability to incorporate history, film, politics and literature into the retelling of the journey, provides a jumping off point for those who want to learn more about Iran and its future. In addition to being an excellent writer, you were a fantastic travel companion who acted as friend, teacher, guide and hubbly-bubbly partner. Perhaps one day we'll get to continue the journey to those parts of this amazing country we missed the first time around.
