BAGHDAD - Iraq has formed a committee to study new or revised bids by oil majors for fields that were not awarded in an initial energy bidding round that concluded in June, an Oil Ministry official said on Thursday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Exxon Mobil had put forward a new bid for Zubair oilfield, while Chevron and Total had submitted a new bid for West Qurna field.

The proposals are being considered and a decision should be made shortly, he said.
