Last year, educators nationwide educated 3,300 kids about Fair Trade through Global Exchange's National Valentine's Day of Action.

This year, will you help us reach 3,500?

Plus, you can win a Fair Trade gift worth $75, by starting to teach the curriculum anytime before Valentine's Day!!!

Why participate???

  1. Cover teaching standards using a subject kids love...chocolate!
  2. Global Exchange published a fabulous new unit in December 2008.
  3. By Teaching kids how they can personally make a difference in the world through the products they buy, you are starting them on a lifetime of socially and environmentally conscious consumerism — as well as educating them about the importance of supporting their peers overseas.
  4. Teachers who teach the curriculum in time for the National Valentine's Day of Action will be entered into a prize drawing to win over $75 worth of Fair Trade chocolate and educational materials!
  5. The first five new participating teachers will receive, free of charge, a small bag of real Fair Trade Organic cocoa beans to show students during the curriculum

How to Participate and Register to Win the National Valentine's Day of Action Fair Trade Gift
There is a two-step process:

  1. Email us by February 13 at fairtrade@globalexchange.org to let us know you will be part of the 3,500 for Fair Trade National Valentine's Day of Action, and we will enter you into the prize drawing. Please include "National Day of Action participant" in the subject line of your email, and in the body of your email please indicate your name, your school name, your mailing address, phone number, number of children in your classroom, grade level, and the date you plan to teach the curriculum. (ALL of this information is required to participate, so that we can follow up with you and send you the cocoa beans).
  2. Postmark or email the curriculum evaluation at the end of the unit by February 21.

Note: Individuals from around the world are encouraged to participate, but prizes can only be offered to participants with US addresses.

INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING, WHILE RAISING AWARENESS OF FAIR TRADE!!!
Forward this information to other teachers, and we will enter your name into a prize drawing for Fair Trade gifts worth over $40 for every teacher you refer who downloads the curriculum. When teachers download the curriculum, they will have the opportunity to provide the name and email of the person who referred them, which will enter you into the prize drawing.

OR copy this flyer and distribute it to all the educators in your school, youth group, congregation, etc!
