This previous fall DU moved towards being a completely Fair Trade campus (due to a student-led initiative last spring of which I helped lead) by serving mostly Fair Trade coffee at all of our on-campus coffee vendor locations.

I helped lead a group of 13 from DU down to Nicaragua in December to explore issues surrounding coffee production and economic justice. This trip was a great success and we visited various coffee plantations and cooperatives including Cecocafen! We are currently involved in educating the general student population on campus about Fair Trade and organizing a well developed proposal to move the campus to selling entirely Fair Trade coffee. We are hosting Cesar in order to be a part of this incredible movement on campus!
