April 9th, 2004 I am mostly doing other things. Every Sunday my church, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, continues to sell Fair Trade coffee and teas and chocolate. Our Social Justice Committee leads that effort, which involves education as well.
January 15, 2002
Earlier this month our local Unitarian Universalist Fellowship committed to buying only Fair Trade Coffee.
April 3, 2001 The youth group is trying to get my church, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of SLO, to buy Fair Trade coffee. They are used to buying cheap,3 lb cans of coffee.
Notes From Campaign Organized By Bob Banner:
March 28, 2001 I went to a meeting of Cal Poly studnets who want to do a youth activism special issue and I discovered a young woman who wanted to organize around brining that South American coffee person to speak. She even found out that the university could put up half the money. I said I would give her $100. and she was supposed to get back to me, but she never did. This is the story I hear so often. I'm backing away from direct organizing and focusing on publishing a magazine about sustainability. You could try to contact Todd at schoenb@polymail.cpunix.calpoly.edu. He may be able to help you find someone on campus However, they are in the middle of exams right now.

I went to another starbucks in San Diego this time (the other one was in escondido) and the same thing- they went to the back room came out and said they didn't have any. however, this time the woman said she'd have some next Tuesday and she gave me 80¢ off a mocha since she loved the idea of fair trade coffee.
