I have been active in the Ohio Conference on Fair Trade, a coalition of environmental, labor and faith groups. This group meets once a month in Columbus, Ohio. It includes the Ohio AFL-CIO, American Lands Alliance, Alliance for Sustainable Jobs and the Environment, other fair trade groups and church representatives.

I began the campaign for Folgers fair trade coffee by forwarding many of the e-mails from Global Exchange to an activist list in Cincinnati. I attended a Sierra Club activist training camp at Mohican State Park in Ohio. I distributed post cards and obtained signatures for the Folgers petition at the camp. I distributed materials for the Folger's campaign and the M&M' s at a local supermarket in South Point, Ohio and Ashland, Ky.

Please, send materials for the March 7th Day of Action & Education for Folgers to participate in Fair Trade coffee. I distributed the material you sent me to Sierra Club Training Academy participants and they were received with gusto. I will distribute more at our next AARP meeting and on the 7th of March at Krogers Grocery in Ashland, KY.

I have not been as active as I would like. I did share an specially effective e-mail from Deborah with the manager of Cafe Espresso in a Borders Bookstore. Iwould like to think that this helped recruit Borders as a fair trade client.
I approached The manager of Sam's, a subsidiary of Wal Mart and he said he would he would give the information to his purchasing manager. I also approached a local grocer about fair trade coffee and told him he could obtain it through Starbucks and I made contact with the manager of a large Kroger store.
I missed the action scheduled for December 15. I tried to download your flier but couldn't get it printed properly. I did forward the e-mails for the protest of Folgers to an activist group of fair traders in Cincinnati and would like an action kit for local organizing on Folgers.
