Peace Coffee began in 1996 as a fair trade initiative of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. Our approach to beans considers the entire process, from purchasing direct from small farmer cooperatives to making our local deliveries by bike, with the goal of peddling the most righteous beans available. Just as with Community Supported Agriculture where consumers know their farmers and share up front in the risks, fair trade is about reconnecting with coffee farmers and bringing responsibility and justice back into the trade equation. Peace Coffee, based in Minneapolis, MN, currently offers organic and shade-grown coffees from Guatemala, Mexico, and Sumatra.
