Envisioning alternatives means building a just and equitable local green economy; one where marginalized communities play a leading role in environmental education and green job experience.
Global Exchange, in partnership with City College of San Francisco South East Campus, has launched a unique program that provides environmental education, job training, mentorship, and support for city college students of the Bayview-Hunters Point community.
Through paid summer internships, students connect with local green businesses while receiving educational support and work-related guidance in order to ensure a successful career in the green economy.
We hope that by bridging the gap between green job opportunities for underrepresented communities and the fast-growing green economy, we can collectively restore the environment and the future health of our communities.
