Dear Berkeley City Council Member (name),

Thank you for supporting the Anti-sweatshop Berkeley Ordinance. As a member of the community and an interested party I am proud that Berkeley is at the forefront of this important legislation and has joined San Francisco in moving towards a Sweatfree Bay Area.

It is imperative we pass an ordinance with teeth, so it is crucial that you understand my concern for adequate allocation of funding for a contract with an independent monitor. I understand that we will be working with other cities and states around the United States to create a national consortium that will serve as an independent monitor and cut down costs for city and state budgets in the future.

In solidarity,

The Sweatfree Berkeley Coalition
