AIDS: National Epidemic

Join the Fight against AIDS!

Unite for Children, Unite Against AIDS
Everyday, 1,400 children under age 15 die from an AIDS related illness. The world must take urgent account of the specific impact of AIDS on children.
South Africa is currently experiencing one of the most severe AIDS epidemics in the world. By the end of 2005, there were five and a half million people living with HIV in South Africa, and almost 1,000 AIDS deaths occurring every day.

The high prevalence of HIV/Aids in South Africa poses major challenges to the social fabric of South African society. The epidemic is a national crisis and the government needs to work with civil society groups to provide mechanisms for victims.

"This is the worst thing that has happened to us. There are more people killed today by HIV and AIDS than people in wars. More than five million people are infected in this country and people are dying everyday." - Mangosutho Buthelezi

All over the world, people are uniting to fight for the victims of HIV/AIDS. Here are a few campaigns to help promote AIDS awareness and provide support to people living with AIDS. Come join the fight!
