Save Darfur Rally Protest Sign, April 2006, Washington, DC
There is a desperate human rights and humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan. Since 2003, more than 400,000 civilians have died from fighting, famine and disease, and 2.5 million have been displaced. 90% of villages have been looted or destroyed, and Sudanese government forces and allied militias are carrying out a campaign of ethnic cleansing against non-Arab Darfurians.

Global Exchange urges you to take action for peace and justice in Sudan, a country where the presence of oil, war, terrorism and poverty are intersecting to wreak havoc on the lives of civilians. Please see the links for background information and ideas about what you can do.
