The central topic will be "Sustainable Technologies in Energy Processes," related to the thermo-conversion of solar radiation, solar biotechnology, wind power, solar photo-voltaic energy and to energy efficiency and refrigeration. Parallel to this event, the 3rd Symposium of Women in Renewable Energy will also be held, in which women's contribution to this field will be shown, particularly in the domestic, scientific and professional fields, sources from the Organizing Committee stated. CIES, founded almost 10 years ago, is the only institution of its kind in Latin America, and published the Manual of Solar Radiation of the Republic of Cuba, a laboratory for work and homologation of solar photo-voltaic modules, solar dryers for wood and compact solar heaters. The institution, based in Santiago de Cuba, shows the commitment of Cuban authorities on the investigation and exploitation of renewable energy sources and the preservation of the environment, not only with the objective to apply such results in Cuba, but also to contribute to other countries' endeavors in this field. |
