Mexico: U.S. Observer Deported

Ted Lewis, the director for Mexico of the San Francisco human rights group Global Exchange, was detained by immigration agents in Guadalajara and deported. Mr. Lewis was organizing 40 foreign professors to study election conditions before the July 2 presidential balloting. The autonomous Federal Electoral Institute had approved his credentials as an election observer.
