Financial Aid

Title IV of the Higher Education Act permits students to apply federal aid including grants and loans to study abroad programs which have been approved by their home university. It is important that students inquire with their respective financial aid offices to facilitate the transfer of aid to Global Exchange. This may take the form of a consortium agreement and it is recommended that students who are considering participating in the program begin this process early. Global Exchange staff are available to assist students in any way possible to ensure the transfer of financial aid to cover the costs of the program.

Students are also encouraged to research external sources of funding. NAFSA's list of potential funding options for international study is a good resource available by clicking here. University study abroad departments can also provide good information for students pursuing funding for international programs.

Global Exchange also offers a fundraising pack for Reality Tours which students can apply to their efforts to secure funding for their semester abroad.
