Contrast and majesty abound in Nepal. While Nepal was never colonized and it was relatively isolated from the world, it did face major political upheaval and civil war for over a decade. With the strife over, democratic processes restored, many sociopolitical and economic changes are happening. It is an exciting time for the country and yet there are many challenges. Our programs in 2010 will enhance your understanding of this vibrant place. On all delegations you will learn about the rich Buddhist and Hindu culture, experience both urban and rural life, and meet with individuals and organizations involved in the political change, human rights, environmental stewardship, fair trade and community development.
