Rally: SF Greets Obama to Say: Stop the Madness
President Obama is back on his way to the Bay Area, and as climate disaster continues to unfold in the Philippines and elsewhere, he needs to know that there is no way we’ll stand for him approving the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline.
He’ll be in town next Monday the 25th for a fundraiser, and we’re meeting at 11 AM outside his fundraiser at the intersection of Franklin St. and Grove St. in San Francisco to send him a message: it’s time to stop the fossil fuel madness — stop Keystone XL!
This will be a big, loud, family-friendly event — can you join us Monday at 11 AM? Click here to RSVP on Facebook: www.facebook.com/events/238077203024579/
Here are the details:
What: SF Greets Obama to Say: Stop the Madness — No Tar Sands! NO KXL! Climate Action Now! A family friendly street demonstration outside President Obama’s fundraiser.
When: Monday November 25th, 11 AM
Where: The intersection of Franklin St. and Grove St. in San Francisco, CA
Who: 350.org, Center for Biological Diversity, Friends of the Earth, Sierra Club, Credo Action, 350 Bay Area, and many others
When Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, it was the strongest typhoon ever recorded at landfall. With that kind of climate chaos spreading across the globe we can’t afford to have President Obama go back on his climate promises and approve projects like Keystone XL.
There will be signs and banners to make us very visible outside the President’s fundraiser, so all you need to do is be there and be ready to make some noise so that he knows the Bay Area says no to climate chaos, and no to Keystone XL.
