Laurie Guevara-Stone is the writer/editor at the Rocky Mountain Institute. She has been researching and studying energy issues in Cuba since 1996, and has written numerous articles on energy education, energy efficiency, and renewable energy in Cuba for magazines including Solar Today, Home Power, Alternatives Journal, and Renewable Energy World.
Previously Laurie was the international program manager at Solar Energy International. She has a Master's Degree in Energy Engineering from the University of Colorado. Laurie has done extensive work in Latin America with numerous development organizations, and over the past 20 years has conducted projects in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Mexico and Ecuador implementing photovoltaics, solar cooking and water distillation.
