Tex Dworkin

Tex Dworkin is an active participant in the Fair Trade movement, both as an independent Fair Trade Consultant and Director of Social Media for Global Exchange, an international human rights organization. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Thought and Political Economy from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and has a background in cooperatively structured business and non-profit entrepreneurship.

Before heading from the East to West coast and entering the Fair Trade movement, Tex worked for many years in purchasing at Whole Foods, then moved on to business development and promotions at KCBS Radio in San Francisco. Over 10 years ago, believing in the power of business enterprise as a tool for social change, Tex's passion for socially conscious business drew her to the Fair Trade movement where she worked as the Manager of the Global Exchange Fair Trade Online Store.

Since then, she has traveled to various parts of the world on direct buying trips, delegations, and educational speaking tours. Tex's work in Fair Trade, e-commerce, and cause-based marketing continues to inspire her to act on behalf of the expanding socially conscious consumer movement. She has served on a multitude of business advisory boards, and is currently on the Fair Trade Resource Network Board of Directors and the Fair Trade Federation Fundraising Committee.
