Speaking Event: On the 2nd Anniversary of the Fukushima Meltdown
Nuclear Whistleblowers, Health and Safety Workers and Our Communities
The growing dangers and systemic health and safety problems at nuclear plants in the US, Japan and around the world are a threat to the workers and communities. On March 9, 2012 there will be a national conference in San Francisco to focus on the issue of health and safety at nuclear plants and the systemic retaliation against nuclear plant whistleblowers. If the 1% stops whistleblowers from reporting on the dangers of nuclear plants, it’s only a matter of time till we’ll be having Fukushima in California.
It will also look at the failure of government agencies to do proper
oversight of the retaliation of whistleblowers at these nuclear plants and how this failure to protect these health and safety whistleblowers needs to be addressed. It will also look at how the communities have been affected including Fukushima and California where San Onofre and Diablo Canyon nuclear plants continue to threaten the environment and nuclear plant workers.
Speakers will include nuclear plant whistleblowers, health and safety experts and advocates and others who are seeking justice, transparency and accountability.
