The Occidental Arts and Ecology Center’s Permaculture Program and Movement Generation Justice & Ecology Project are co-hosting Roberto Perez, Cuban permaculturist and environmental educator, who is featured in the award winning documentary, “The Power of Community, How Cuba Survived Peak Oil.” Roberto Perez is currently in the U.S. promoting the 11th International Permaculture Convergence (IPC11) to be held in Cuba in November 2013.

Proceeds from this event will support scholarships for a delegation of key OAEC and MG representatives to attend the IPC11 — where we will attend and lead sessions, as well as participate by bringing our critical perspective around our collaborative concept of “liberation permaculture” and the application of permaculture in urban communities of color in the US.
