24th Annual Tibet Day – “Looking at the World through Eyes of Compassion”
Fort Mason Conference Center
Marina Blvd at Buchanan St.
San Francisco

Bay Area Friends of Tibet invites you toto discover Tibet’s warm people and its beautiful and intriguing culture at the 24th Annual Tibet Day!

For over two decades, Tibet Day has brought Tibetans and Bay Area residents together at Fort Mason Center to celebrate Tibetan culture and to support the survival of this extraordinary civilization.

Tibetans and supporters (including Chinese, American, Burmese, Taiwanese, Uyghur, Mongolian, Himalayan, and other friends) will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Dalai Lama’s Nobel Peace Prize and his message of Looking at the World through Eyes of Compassion.

During the day at the Fair (11am – 7pm) The 24th Annual Tibet Day will feature: delicious Tibetan cuisine, political updates from behind the "red dragon" curtain, lectures and discussions with noted Tibetan authors.

-Meet prominent Tibetan activists, learn about cultural, environmental, and political issues, and collect materials to help advocate for human rights in Tibet.
-Meet Artist-photographer Don Farber, and enchant yourself with his new brilliant photography book, His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
-Also meet Attorney Dennis Cusack, Chairman of the International Tibet Support Network and author of Tibet’s War of Peace, Producer-Director Gregg Eller and his new film, Recalling a Buddha, and Author/activist Canyon Sam, who will speak about her new book, Sky Train: Tibetan Women on the Edge of History.
-Catch up on your holiday shopping at Tibet Day where hundreds of one-of-a-kind handicrafts, including jewelry, clothing, rugs, and ritual objects will be available to admire and purchase.

Stay for the Evening Concert (8pm – 11pm) and enjoy performances by notable artists from around the world.

Among the artists who are scheduled to appear are: pop music artist Pemsi (direct from India), the Bay Area’s own Tsering Wangmo of Chaksampa Tibetan Dance & Opera Company fame, and the Dharma Bums.
