Deborah Schwartz
Deborah Schwartz is the coordinator of the Portland Sweatfree Campaign with Global Exchange. She built a broad base coalition of labor, faith, student, political, and community organizations to win a sweatshop-free resolution for the city of Portland. She is on the Board of Directors of Sweatfree Communities, a national network of anti-sweatshop organizations, and the Portland Central America Solidarity Committtee (PCASC), which organizes against free trade and builds worker-to-worker solidarity throughout the Americas. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College where she co-founded Student Labor Action Movement (SLAM) and organized for janitors' rights on her campus. Deborah also spent several months in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico at a center for workers in the maquiladora factories. You may hear Deborah co-host Labor Radio on 90.7 FM in Portland, Oregon.
