Paul Hawken in conversation with Kevin Danaher
The Green Movement: Hope for the Future of the Earth

Paul Hawken is an environmentalist, entrepreneur, journalist, and author. Starting at age 20, he dedicated his life to sustainability and changing the relationship between business and the environment. His practice has included starting and running ecological businesses, writing and teaching about the impact of commerce on living systems, and consulting with governments and corporations on economic development, industrial ecology, and environmental policy. He is the author of many articles and books, including his latest book, Blessed Unrest: How the Largest Movement in the World Came Into Being and Why No One Saw it Coming.

Praise for Blessed Unrest:
“Exciting, compelling…it will inspire millions to take action.” – Jane Goodall, UN Ambassador for Peace

“A manifesto of hope for the 21st century...” – Terry Tempest Williams, author of the Open Space of Democracy.

“Powerful” – Bill McKibben, author of Deep Economy and The End of Nature

Kevin Danaher is a co-founder of Global Exchange (1988), founder and Executive Co-Producer of the Green Festivals (2001), and Executive Director of the Global Citizen Center (2004). His analytical expertise, sense of humor and blunt eloquence make him an exceptionally dynamic speaker addressing issues of globalization and how we can replace the power of transnational corporations with local green economy networks. Dr. Danaher is the author and/or editor of numerous books, including his latest, Building the Green Economy: Success Stories from the Grass Roots.

Tickets: $10 advance, $13 door. Students with ID: $5 (at door only).
