Chevron confirms it will seek deep-water permit
Brett Clanton
Chevron Corp. confirmed Monday that it is seeking what could be the first new permit to drill in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico since the government lifted a drilling ban prompted by the BP oil spill.
A spokeswoman for Chevron said the San Ramon, Calif.-based company is submitting sections of the massive application as they're completed. She declined to provide details.
