Renee Maria Saucedo is a vocal advocate for immigrant rights in California. Since 1991 she has worked with La Raza Centro Legal as an employment attorney and a youth law attorney. She also advocates for progressive policies in the educational and juvenile justice systems.
Ms. Saucedo works within the legal system and at the grassroots level, fostering coalitions between diverse community groups to more effectively combat poverty, advocate for health care, and halt dehumanizing INS raids. She is involved with a wide variety of nonprofits in the San Francisco Bay Area and has received several awards for excellence in community service.
