“Late Summer Splendor of the Delta,” a special two-hour visual tour of the botanic wonders of the watery world where California’s great rivers flow together, introduces Bay Currents, a new series of free talks on natural history and environmental issues with emphasis on positive solutions.
September’s speaker is Dr. Steve Edwards, geologist, paleontologist, naturalist, and head of the East Bay Regional Parks Botanic Garden for 30 years. September is a superb time to “visit” since plants do not lack for water, some of the showiest wildflowers are in bloom. This talk also is valuable background for knotty decisions on the future of the Delta.
September’s special evening begins with refreshments at 6:30pm. The two-hour presentation — with leg-stretching breaks — begins promptly at 7pm.
