The Oakland Institute will premiere their film "On Our Land" at the David Brower Center.
"On Our Land" dives into the heart of the institute's mission to expose unethical and destructive land use and the resulting devastation to local communities and the environment. The film chronicles the experiences of rural communities of Papua New Guinea who have been thrown deeper into poverty through logging operations that revoke access to their own land.
Olivier Deschutter, United Nations Rapporteur to the Right to Food says, "fluent and fearless, "On Our Land," uncovers an important and underreported story of human and environmental devastation."
