Join Global Exchange on a women's delegation to Kabul, Afghanistan and bear witness to the self-generated transformation of women's roles in Afghan society.
This trip provides the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Afghan women's perspectives on their lives and the future of their country. In addition to meeting with women from all sectors of Afghan society, the delegation will have an opportunity to examine many other aspects of reconstruction including education, de-mining, arts, culture, and the media.
This trip to Afghanistan is the opportunity of a lifetime to see the challenges that Afghan women are facing, to hear their stories first-hand, and to learn from them how we can support their efforts.

Program Highlights:
- Meet with Women's organizations and vocational training centers. Learn about micro-lending projects and small businesses for women at PARWAZ.
- Visit the Red Cross Rehabilitation Clinic for Mine Victims
- Visit newly built and opened girls school's
- Visit the Afghan Commission for Human Rights, Women for Women International, and the W.O.M.A.N literacy program
- Visit the Red Cross Rehabilitation Clinic for Mine Victims and de-mining groups to learn how Afghans are recovering from the devastating legacy of more than 25 years of war.
- Visit the National Art Gallery and History Museum
- Ministry of Women's Affairs
- Visit PARSA, an Afghan Widow Project and gift shop
- Speak with students at Kabul University
- Visit female human rights activists
- Meet with RAWA and learn about their prostitute rehabilitation project
- Learn about the lives of street children during a visit to Ashiana (Afghan Street Children Project)
- Meet with female judges on a visit to their association
- Day trip to Wardak: Visit of Afghans4Tomorrow's third school for girls, opened in 2005.
Cost:
$1700 from Kabul (International flight not included)

- Double/triple room accommodations
- Two meals a day (lunch excluded)
- On-ground transportation (including airport transfers)

How to Register:
To secure your space on this trip, please submit your registration form and a deposit of $200 two months before departure. A late fee of $50 will be applied for late registration. Deposits are non-refundable but transferable for up to one year toward the cost of another tour. Payments by check, Mastercard or Visa are welcome.
This trip will be as diverse as possible in terms of race, age and life experiences. We strongly urge people of color to apply. A limited number of partial scholarships are available for low-income applicants.
