PHOTO CONTEST WILL NOW BE ANNUAL EVENT
We invite all past participants on Global Exchange Reality Tours to enter in the Reality Tours Photo Contest for a chance to win a $100 coupon to the online Fair Trade Store: www.globalexchangestore.org
Inspired by talented delegates who have contributed their work to us in the past, we thought this would be a wonderful way to highlight our trips through the eyes of actual participants. Both amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to send us up to five of your best pictures taken from any of our tours.
Photo entries will be judged by our staff on May 1, 2008, and the chosen winner will receive a $100 coupon for our Fair Trade Online Store!
Photos submitted must be 8"x10" and, if possible, also in digital form on a disc with at least 300 dpi for each image. Please also tell us which tour the photo is from, the date, and as much information about the people/place photographed as possible.

FAQ About the Photo Contest: Can I just send you digital images of my photos? In order for your photo(s) to be considered for the contest, they must be printed. But if you do not anticipate that you will have the time and resources to mail us printed photos, yet you have good photos you would like to share with us, we encourage you to do so! You may mail a disc to the address above, or email up to 5 photos to: ladan@globalexchange.org
What kind of criteria are you looking for in a photo? Photos that capture the people and/or the country that you visited are judged very highly. We also appreciate photos that include interaction between you or your fellow travelers with the people you visited. Abstract photos that don't at all reflect on where you traveled are not ranked as high. Thus far most of the photos received are from the Middle East tours, so we encourage people who have traveled with us to Latin America, Asia, or Africa to submit photos.
What will GX do with my photos? All photos received will be eligible for use in our printed literature, on our website, ads, and for public display. We will also have a touring photo exhibition of the 10 best entries in cafes and restaurants in the Bay Area. Some photos will also be available for auction at Global Exchange's Human Rights Awards ceremony as a benefit to the organization. This is a great opportunity to have your work on display and be appreciated by a wide audience!
