General Itinerary for a Tour to Afghanistan

This specific tour decided to focus somewhat on Women's Issues in Afghanistan, and thus a decent amount of its content pertains to women and women's organization in the country, in addition to other, more general programs.

Day 1: orientation

-Greetings at Kabul International Airport -Ride to Guesthouse -Lunch (guesthouse) -Global Exchange orientation -Internet cafe

Day 2:

-United Nations Mine Action -Red Cross Rehabilitation Clinic for Mines Victims -Lunch (Marco Polo restaurant) -Ariana Afghan Airline (confirmation of your return trip) -King Babur Garden

Day 3 (holliday):

-King Nader Shah's tomb -Darulaman Palace -Lunch (Setara restaurant) -Bazaar

Day 4:

-Afghanistan Aid girl school: (Mrs. Soraya Ebadi) -Lunch: Setara restaurant -Afghanistan's spiritual leader (Quari Barakatullah) -Afghan Commission  for Human Rights (Lal Gul)

Day 5:

-Women for Women International (Sweeta Noori) -W.O.M.A.N (Mina Sherzoy) literacy program - Lunch (Marco Polo restaurant) -Omar Mine Museum -The National Art Gallery -Ashiana Afghan traditional music

Day 6:

-Ministry of Women's Affairs -Lunch: Marco Polo -PARSA: Afghan Widow Project (Mary Mc Macken) -PARSA's gift shop (proceeds goes to widow's families)

Day 7:

-Kabul University: -library -Department of French (Mr. Suratgar) -School of Journalism (Dr. Kazem Ahang) -Lunch: Intercontinental Hotel -Sema Samar, Human Right Activist -The National Archives

Day 8:

-Kabul prison: female detention center OR RAWA's prostitute rehabilitation project -Lunch: Kabul Pizza -The National Democratic Institute (Hussein Ramoz) -Ashiana (Afghan Street Children Project) -Ashiana Art Gallery  

Day 9:

-Rabia Balkhi women hospital -Fawzia Amini, female judge, Ministry of Women's Affairs -Lunch: (Marco Polo) -Alaudin orphanage

Day 10: Day trip to Wardak:

-School for girls who were denied education under the Taliban -Lunch: Mayar guesthouse -Return to Kabul

Day 11:

Departure from Kabul International Airport
