   Residents of Mt. Shasta draft an ordinance to assert community rights to water -- Local concern has been growing about corporate control of local water though groundwater withdrawl and chemical weather manipulation more commonly known as cloud seeding. Following a series of well attended public events, a group of concerned Mount Shasta residents began to examine strategies to ensure that local residents — not corporations — make the policy decisions around local water resources.

    MICHIGAN STUDENTS WANT GREEN JOBS, CLEAN ENERGY FOR BAY CITY -- 100 Central Michigan students are having a rally in Bay City Wednesday, April 15 at 5:00 pm to urge Consumers Energy to invest in Renewable Energy for Manufacturing Jobs in MI and to ask the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to deny an air permit for the proposed expansion on the Karn Weadock coal plant.

   Freedom From Oil Campaigners Crash GM CEO’s Speech at San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club --

SAN FRANCISCO–Activists with the Freedom From Oil Campaign interrupted General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner’s speech on green cars today at San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club, urging him to sign a pledge to make his company the auto industry’s fuel efficiency leader by 2012. Wagoner refused, just as he did at the 2006 Los Angeles auto show when asked to sign a similar fuel efficiency pledge.
