Why by train?
We are traveling by rail to Washington DC for a few reasons. Rail travel is efficient and is a form of transportation that must be greatly expanded as part of a green North American future. We think it sends a powerful message to travel cross-country by train.
Not only that, time on the train will give us time to make new friends and reconnect with old ones. Join people from around our nation looking to build community and spark a powerful national movement to accelerate our response to the climate emergency.

The trip will begin from Emeryville, California but you can join us anywhere along the line.
We'll take the California Zephyr (via Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas City) for the first leg:
Departs 9:10am 2/26/09 from Emeryville, CA Arrives 3:50pm 2/28/09 at Chicago, IL
Chicago will be a convergence point where we can pick up folks from other parts of the country.
We'll take the Capitol Limited (via Cleveland and Pittsburgh) on into Washington, DC:
Departs 7:05pm 2/28/09 from Chicago, IL Arrives 1:30pm 3/1/09 at Washington, DC
