Greener Campuses Nationwide
| Learn about campuses all around the country who are taking steps to end our dependence on oil and move towards sustainable energy. |
A key step to end our addiction to oil and achieve a just, clean energy future is to make our vehicles go much, much farther on a gallon of gas. Technologies that can increase vehicle fuel efficiency, such as gasoline-electric hybrid systems, already exist. Since sales to institutional buyers such as cities and universities account for about 1/5 of all auto sales in the U.S., by changing purchasing policies we can help shift the entire auto industry toward a more sustainable way of doing business. By greening the campus's vehicle fleet, we're making a major contribution toward halting climate destabilization and wars for oil.
Greenfleets campaigns are part of the Campus Climate Challenge , a project of the Energy Action Coalition made up of more than 30 leading youth organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada that leverages the power of young people to build the youth movement on global warming. Join us!
