Descriptions and Photos of the Speakers
Find out more about some of the amazing speakers you can bring to your community.

In September 2006, Global Exchange and a coalition of peace and environmental groups (including the Conservation Society of Pohnpei and the Arctic Indigenous Alliance) brought the voices of oil and climate change affected speakers from around the world to tour the United States and help America end its addiction to oil. Community and indigenous leaders from places like Nigeria, Iraq, the Arctic, New Orleans, Ecuador and small island nations like Micronesia toured the nation demanding a separation of oil and state and working to build true energy independence.

Many of these powerful international and local voices are still available to come to your campus/community to share their own story of how the one-two punch of oil addiction and global warming is affecting their community and provide solutions and hope for the future.

At the tipping point of our planet, hearing from those who are already directly affected becomes of critical importance.

If you would like to bring one of these speakers to your campus or community please contact june@globalexchange.org.
